- (sa) ekasmin samaye (Pali: (pi) ekaṃ samayaṃ); 'on one occasion,' part of the usual opening phrase of a (sa) sūtra-- 'Thus have I heard, once,' etc. A period, e.g. a session of expounding a (sa) sūtra.
